The NYT reporter's sad story of easy credit and good intentions leading to financial disaster that I linked to a couple weeks ago turns out to be only partly true; instead, it appears to have been rewritten in ways that would increase book sales and protect his wife's reputation.
This all works on multiple levels, as it relates not just to the financial crisis but also to my post yesterday about saving the newspapers. In particular, we have (another) NYT reporter kinda making it up, and a blogger doing real reporting.
