JQAS: read at your own risk?

Apparently the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports has some issues, though it is the authors who really misbehaved here.

I've had some serious issues with some of the work in those journals (including my own questions about academic dishonesty). The study in question finds an enormous effect using IV regression.

While I don't necessarily agree with the way JC posted it on the blog, I had a short discussion with him about the journal over email. They recently have been taken over by ASA and are currently looking for a new editor.

It's seems like an okay place to throw together a combination of newer techniques out there...but a lot of it comes off as...as Bradbury put it...gibberish. I'm hoping it starts to improve with the changes that are supposedly going on.
