A long pondered but only lately realized blog about economics, politics, evaluation, econometrics, academia, college football and whatever else comes to mind.
Jeff, I'm no economist so you'll have to help me out here; has anybody ever done a study comparing ALL governmentally-leveled fees (including mandatory payroll deductions, fees, licenses, tolls, etc) of federal, state and local levels in the US with those in European countries? It seems to me that most taxes in the US aren't called "tax", plus we have three levels while most European countries only have one or two.
