Nowhere Boy is a biopic covering John Lennon's life from around age 15 to when the band leaves for Hamburg. The NYT review, which seems to have had its ending hacked off by some cruel, misguided editor, gets things about right. The movie has its moments, and is easily worth it just for the music, the loving period setting, and Anne-Marie Duff as John's mother. But it is good, not great.
Recommended unless you (gasp!) don't like the Beatles.
