And yet, I have seen so much economist 'bashing' in the press and blogs lately that I wonder if we economists couldn't do a little better 'marketing' our discipline. Not many people open up the JHR and the economists who carefully slog through the data/theory are rarely in the public eye. I have been guilty of being a 'grumpy' economist in multi-disciplinary seminars...it's hard to find the right words to talk with people who come at similar questions from a different analytical perspectives.
